Welcome!

You might know me from what will now be my personal blog, a fountain of useless information. Perhaps you've seen my Blackhawks photos on Flickr or Tumblr, or follow me on Twitter. Or maybe you're even fortunate enough to know me in real life (ha). In any case, I'm glad you stumbled upon this blog!

When I started my other blog, I intended it to be an assortment of posts about all of my interests and thoughts. But with the Blackhawks' magical season, it soon turned into a hockey blog with a smattering of odds and ends. I figured it was time to separate the two. I'm sure the folks who liked to read my insipid thoughts on hockey were bored to tears with my love of old signs and random bits of personal information. Likewise, those who read to keep up with what was going on in my life probably stopped reading around game 70 last season. So, with that in mind, I thought it would be best to have a blog focused solely on hockey. With the season about to start, this is the perfect time. 

I named this blog "Geek Misconduct" to reflect myself. I wanted to use a hockey term combined with an adjective for my personality. I wear geek as a badge of honor - I mean really, whose office looks like this:

I only have my Star Wars collection & posters on three walls of the room, so I'd like to make the other a hockey wall if I can ever get my ass in gear. Talk about a Room of Ultimate Geekery. 

My goal with this blog is not to make it a place for breaking news or hard hitting analysis. Many of the links on the left side of the page are excellent places for that, and do a much better job than I ever could. This is just a place for me to express my thoughts on hockey and the Blackhawks as we go through the 82 game season, and onto the excitement of the playoffs. I promise you snark, rants, run-on sentences and more irreverent humor you can shake a hockey stick at. Here are some of the things I'm hoping to present to you, oh dutiful reader:

- Blackhawks Game Recaps: I did a pretty good job of recapping most of the games last season, although I only started in January. I will do my best with a recap of each game, but I do have a fairly demanding job, so there will be times when I may combine two or more games in one post. I have plans to add a bit of a humorous touch to my recaps this season, so keep an eye out for the first one this Friday! (w00t!)
- Photo Posts: Photography has become my primary hobby and I enjoy it immensely. Many of you have probably seen my photos on Flickr, and I plan on using the blog as a place to give a little background or humorous antidotes on some of the photos I post.
- Down on the Farm Updates: With so many promising players in Rockford this season, my hope is to give periodic updates on how some of our baby Hawks are doing. I am attending at least five IceHogs games this season, so I'll be sure to have some photos and personal observation as well. 
- Memorabilia: I like to collect things. Pucks, hockey cards, vintage crap. From time to time I'll throw images of that stuff up here for you to enjoy.

While this is a bit of a vanity project for me, my hope is that people will enjoy what I have to say, or at least have a good laugh at my expense. I will do my best to update this as frequently as my "real life" allows. If you have anything comments, suggestions or funny jokes, please comment away!
